Liverpool - the season 2007-2008

Like it or not, it is yet another disappointing season.

So what does Liverpool need. I think Liverpool still lacks killer wingers. I think the best bet in the left wing is Ricardo Quaresma. Liverpool should buy him. Take a look at Quaresma in action:

That will take care of the left wing and babel can be a standby in case Quaresma is injured. However, knowing Benitez, he will not buy Quaresma. He will buy some 1/2 past six type of player.

Right back ... what happened to our interes in Daniel Alvis.

It is worthwhile investing in this player. He is a real gem.

Right wing ... get Andrey Arshavin. He is playing for UEFA Champions Zenit St Petersburg now. Watch him in action.

It is no point wasting money on fringe players when even the first team is not in the right. So here is my first 11 for liverpool next season:
Goalkeeper: Reina (Benitez is not going to sell him. It all fairness to him, I think he is still better than calamity James. We need a good no 2 to pressure Reina though.)
Central defence: Carragher and Agger (reserve: srktyl and hyppia)
Right back: Danial Alvis (reserve: finnan, arbeloa)
Left back: Insua (yes, play this guy more. he is promising. reserve: Aurelio). Actually Aurelio is also coming up.
midfield pair: Gerard and Mascherano (reserve: Alonso, Lucas and Barry if we buy him)
Left wing: Quaresma (reserve: babel; if not Quaresma, at least get David Silva.)
Right wing: Andrey Arshavin (reserve: Benayoun, Kuyt, Alves if need be.) If cannot get Arshavin at least get Simao before he age. Or push Alvis up.

Strikers: Villa, Torres (reserve: crouch, babel)

So players to buy - Alves, Arshavin, Villa and Quaresma. 4 quality players who will easily walk into to current first 11. In fact, these fellows will also make it to the Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal first 11.

Whatever it is, we will remain the most consistent fans .. from 1990, we have consistently been saying, next season will be our season. So here it is again ... next season is our season!!!
